Knowledge and understanding:
- knowledge of the operation of the main electronic instruments, including power supply, signal generator, oscilloscope
- classification of measuring instruments (hints of metrology)
- measurement techniques, potentials, and limits of different solutions

Skills - The student must be able to:
- analyze the functioning of simple electronic circuits
- use different methodologies to perform measurements of stationary and variable signals
- evaluate the different circuit elements and the relevance they will have in the expected electrical behavior: development of the critical sense.

- Familiarity with the analysis of simple analog circuits, consisting of R, C, and diodes

The exam consists of a written or oral test, aimed at verifying the knowledge of the main characteristics of the devices and instruments present in an electronics laboratory and the ability to
perform a measurement taking into account the characteristics and limits of the setup used

General concepts on the use of laboratory tools and safety rules.
Review of fundamental electrical quantities and passive electronic components behavior
Available fevices to build a circuit: bread-board, soldering iron, etc.
Operating principle, characteristics, use of the main electronic instruments, including power supplies, signal synthesizers, multimeters, digital oscilloscopes, and related probes
Notes on other tools (spectrum analyzers, integrated systems, measurement chains (LabView, Matlab)
Circuit simulation, circuit models, use of LTSpice
In order to effectively focus on issues, the course includes experimental exercises concerning the synthesis of signals, the processing carried out by simple circuits, and the consequent instrumental analysis. The entire process will be supported by equivalent processing managed through circuit simulation.
