His research activity is mainly focused on numerical techniques for applied electromagnetics (antennas, circuits, microwave and millimeter-wave devices, scattering problems). He was coauthor of several scientific publications on the aforementioned topics, appeared in international refereed journals, and national and international conferences.
He is also coauthor of several books, among which:
He has been guest editor of several special issues of international journals:
With P.P. Silvester (McGill University) at the beginning, he was for 25 years promoter of the International Workshop on Finite Elements for Microwave Engineering. This workshop was held every two years, and is the meeting point for finite-element researchers from all over the world. The last workshop promoted , number 13, was be held in 2016 in Florence, Italy.
Among the various foreign Institution with which he has collaborated, there are the McGill University, Montreal, the University of California at Los Angeles, l’Université Nice Sophia Antipolis and the Center for History of Science of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences.
He is an IEEE Fellow ‘for the contributions to computational electromagnetics’
